Celebrate Valentine’s Day with an afternoon concert at the Lefurgey Cultural Centre. Island performer Mike Pendergast presents, Courting in the kitchen – the lighter side of romance in Island folk music. Michael will be singing local traditional songs on the courting theme from as far back as the 18 hundreds, exploring the quirky humour of “romance” in the Irish, Scottish, and Acadian traditions. 

 

The Lefurgey Room of the Cultural Centre is the perfect setting for such a concert filled with folklore. The audience will be doubly entertained as the Summerside Art Club exhibit, View from the Farm, will be hung in the space.

 

Admission to the concert, which starts at 1 pm, is by donation. The Lefurgey Cultural Centre is located at 205 Prince Street, Summerside.
