Culture Summerside is the arts, heritage, and culture division of the City of Summerside. Its mandate is to preserve, promote, grow, and celebrate the city’s cultural assets and community. The municipal cultural division, first known as Wyatt Heritage Properties, was founded in 2000, when the city accepted the Wyatt Foundation gift of Wyatt Heritage Properties (three historic houses) to become the cornerstone of its arts, heritage, and culture policy. The name Culture Summerside was adopted in 2012, to reflect the expanding role of the municipal division in the oversight of additional cultural sites, the development and delivery of year-round programming, and partnering with other cultural organizations to build Summerside as a cultural destination.
